At Montana Fossil Company, we are passionate commercial paleontologists dedicated to unearthing and preserving the ancient treasures. Currently most of our time is spent digging in the Two Medicine Formation,  one of the most scientifically important dinosaur regions in North America.

 Montana’s Two Medicine Formation. This Late Cretaceous landscape — a mix of ancient floodplains, river channels, and volcanic ash layers — preserves an extraordinary record of life from roughly 82 to 74 million years ago. 

 Working directly on this formation means every dig has the potential to uncover something scientifically meaningful — a new species, a rare growth stage, or a fossil that fills in a missing chapter of Cretaceous life. The diversity here is remarkable: hadrosaurs, ceratopsians, small and large theropods, turtles, fish, and even traces of ancient ecosystems that once thrived along the shores of a long‑vanished inland sea. 

 We pride ourselves on how we meticulously collect and prepare museum-quality fossils, ensuring authenticity and legal recovery. All fossils that are listed on our website are genuine and authentic and come with a Certificate of Sale and Authentication.
